Eat Smart! Advantage

Eat Smart! Ontario’s Healthy Restaurant Program is designed to encourage healthy food choices, food safety and 100% smoke free seating in restaurants across the province.  Your restaurant(s) may already meet the program’s requirements.  If so, your participation in the Eat Smart! Program will entitle you to FREE direct promotion.

When you are awarded an Eat Smart! Certificate from your local Public Health Unit, free direct promotion of your establishment will include:

• Listing on the foodinc.ca website, www.foodinc.ca, the most complete online listing of Canadian restaurants
• Listing on the Ontario Eat Smart! website, eatsmart.web.ca
• Listing in your community’s dining guide produced by your local health unit health unit
• Local recognition of your Eat Smart! status

Local community promotions have included award ceremonies, radio and/or television ads, newspaper ads and articles and more.

In addition to the free promotion available to you and your establishment, there are other important benefits. 

• You will strengthen your image in your community as a health-conscious restaurant.
• You will belong to a province-wide program endorsed by both the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
• Joining can be quick and easy with no application costs.
